Five of us met up today for a quick dash to Wisemans Ferry. The weather, roads and the drive itself was awesome. Although we only had a small group compared to the previous cruises (15+), we had heaps of fun driving ’spiritidly’
I managed to take some good shots with my new camera
- didnt take many as I was running low on battery and space on my CF card (2GB but I usually shoot in RAW - i.e zero compression).
Anyway, I’ve uploaded all the pictures I took here. (Total images: 29)
Some of my favourite ones:

Pics look great. How big are the RAW images on a 10.1 MP maximum resolution shot?

sweet pix love how you made the background monochrome on the 3rd pic with the back of the yellow rx8. it makes the yellow car stand out. top job

@1 - the RAW images are around 10-13 megabytes another 3megabytes for a ‘large’ preview image which also gets generated alongside the RAW image. (They call the mode RAW L) as opposed to just ‘RAW’.
@2 - I was thinking of painting the wall with a rusty looking texture to make the picture look slightly surreal but after I masked the area off, i stopped cos it looked really good with that area as B/W

the rusty effect would have looked good too maybe you should do that as well.
how much post processing do you do on the pix you take cos most of them look damn perfect, which isnt really possible all the time, unless you\’ve been doing it for years…

Hey Ron - i’ll probably get to the rusty bit when i have time.. cant really be bothered atm
As for post processing - the SLR doesnt really need much post processing as the levels, contrast and saturation are usually well captured. On my other pics - there usually has been a lot of post processing, basically because of the low res I had to work with and the fact that they were just pretty entry level compact cameras.
Its a habit though because of the previous cameras i’ve had - so it’ll be a bit hard to get rid of it so soon :p
